This is a private collection of Pre-historic, historic and contemporary items.  Many are from the Revolutionary War, Civil War and American Indian historic era.

Many items came from private Museums in Pennsylvania and Michigan and will be marked as such.  Others were simply collected through the years at sales, auctions, through private collections, etc.

1.               SW trade bead necklace – old points and pottery sherds.  C. 1800’s Arizona   

2.               Eskimo doll. Leather and cloth body with fur mittens, fur around the hood bottom of Parka and around the Mukluks.  15” tall from Alaska.  C. 1910 – 20

3.               Chippewa Coyote Toe bone Choker.  Silver and tile beads.  White Earth Res. MN

4.               Old Zuni Necklace.  Trade beads, hand made silver beads and 1 old Mexican coin.  10 arrowheads and old shell pendant from New Mexico. 1800’s.

5.               Kiowa or Comanche beaded knife sheath.  3 ½ “ x 12” – full beaded front in geometric designs.  Oklahoma

6.               Old trade beads from the 1800’s, several strands which include: Pony, Sand-cast, Crow, Mellon and Padre.

7.               Old sheep shear blade knife, with Bear jaw handle.  Wrapped gut or rawhide holds blade to jaw.  Assiniboine or Prairie Ojibwa made.  1900’s N. Dakota.

8.               Sioux strike-a-light bag.  4 x 4” lazy stitch beaded geometric designs.  Tin cones and leather fringe.  S. Dakota.

9.               Very old pair of Hidatsa Moccasins.  Hand tanned and smoked deer hide.  Typical early Hidatsa beading, separate soft sole.  Very old cut beads.  C. 1875-90.  Bismarck area of N. Dakota – Museum.

10.          Pre-historic Pueblo Axe.  Black Basalt polished 5” full groove axe.  Found at Bloody Basin Arizona.  Used by the Ancient Cliff Dwellers.

11.          Old SW Beaded Medallion and 22 choice arrowheads of various types.  Arizona – New Mexico area.

12.          Frame of over 30 smaller arrowheads and drills.  Very nice display from the Kansas – Oklahoma area.

13.          Eskimo Mukluks.  Seal and Caribou hide.  Adult woman’s high top.  Dyed red rawhide lacing.  Very nice pair from Point Barrow Alaska.  C. 1920.

14.          6 x 8 frame of 17 superb points.  Chosen for type, workmanship and variety – very nice.

15.          .6 x 8 frame of 7 extraordinary points.  Extremely fine drill, 4 willow leaf points and 2 corner notched points.

16.          6 x 8 frame of 1 small spear point, 2 arrowheads and 12 beautiful small bird points – nicely framed.

17.          6 x 8 frame of a large 5 ½” Copena spear point and 12 choice bird points.  From Arizona.

18.          Eskimo Caribou antler knife and sheath.  Metal knife blade set into antler.  Antler sheath with Caribou fur/leather wrap.  C. 1930.  Incising on the antler.  Pt. Barrow Alaska area.

19.          Chippewa quill and birch bark box with lid. 5 x 6 x 3 ½ high.  C. 1900 minor damage but a great old box!! Museum N. Minnesota.

20.          Mohawk Moccasins.  Hand tanned and smoked deer hide.  9” long.  Floral beadwork.  Old style.  C. 1900 New York.  From a private Museum in Michigan.

21.          Assinaboine strike–a-light bag. 4 Ύ x 6” plus fringe.  Lazy stitch beaded geometric design Hawk Bell on flap – old trade beads – leather fringe.  1900’s. N. Dakota.

22.          Very rare Hopi Koshari Kachina Doll.  30” long.  Cloth with dyed black stripes.  Used in the Kivas during ceremonies.  Rare to see one in  public.  C. 1920-30 N. Mexico.

23.          Several strings of old trade beads from the 1800’s.  Annular, Mellon, Padre, Seed, etc.

24.          Kickapoo Moccasins.  Hand tanned and smoked deer hide – 10 ½” long.  C. 1890 from Illinois.

25.          Zuni necklace.  Turquoise Heishi and Red Coral tube beads, restrung – N. Mexico.  Late 1800’s.

26.          Zuni Silver and Turquoise necklace.  Old coin silver beads, turquoise nuggets and bear fetish turquoise.  Very nice old necklace from N. Mexico.

27.          Early Colonial hunting knife.  Hand forged iron blade, wooden handle.  13 ½” overall – heavy.  C. 1840-50 Virginia.  From a private Museum in Pennsylvania.

28.          Coyote or Dog Tooth necklace.  Osage made from old Red Mellon beads and Canine bones and teeth.  C. 1900 – restrung from Iowa.

29.          6 x 8 frame of 5 small calibre shells from the late 1800’s – early 1900’s.

30.          6 x 8 frame of 5 .22 calibre shells from the 1800’s – 1900’s.

31.          6 x 8 frame of 5 large calibre shells from the 1800’s.

32.          6 x 8 frame of 3 rare large calibre shells from the 1800’s.

33.          8 x 14” frame of 6 rare large calibre shells from 1860 – 1881.

34.          8 x 14” frame of 8 rare large calibre shells from the 1800’s.

35.          8 x 14” frame of 7 rare shotgun shells from the 1800’s – early 1900’s – includes an old paper pin fire.

36.          Large Pre-historic Pueblo axe.  6 ½” Ύ grove – Basalt.  Found at Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico – worn on one side and may have been used as a mano.  Very unique!!

37.          8 x 14 frame containing 5 different size Celts from the Missouri/Kansas area.

38.          Early Powder flask from the NY/Penn. Area.  C. 1830 – 50.  Private museum in Penn.

39.          Old Iroquois whimsey pillow.  Beaded one side with large number 8 beads from the late 1800’s – early 1900’s.  Made for the tourist trade to sell to support themselves.  7 x 8 ½” long from New York.

40.          Assinaboine Beaded Medicine Ball.  Originally stuffed with Buffalo hair and sometimes held a baby’s umbilical cord.  Many made for the tourist trade.   1900’s – N. Dakota.

41.          Frame containing several artifacts found at Fort Wingate, New Mexico.  C. late 1800’s (45/70 shell, lice comb, Jew’s harp and 69 cal. Mini ball)

42.          Chippewa C. 1880-90 moccasins.  Tanned deer hide-9” long old irregular green and cut beads. Private Museum in Michigan.

43.          Revolutionary War Era Mess fork and flint for a flintlock rifle.  Both items found in New York.  C- 1780.  2 tine fork with bone handle.  From a private museum in Penn.

44.          2 old shells from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.  Look like miniature shotgun shells.  (8 mm labe’ll and 9 mm Win).

45.          8 x 12 frame containing 1 iron trade spear point and 17 nice flint/chert points and scrapers.  Metal spear point was used to kill small animals.

46.          Eskimo coiled sea grass and bark basket.  5 x 6 ½ dia.-natural dyes.  Line designs with darker dyed bark or grass.  Hudson Bay Area – Canada.  C. 1890.

47.          Civil War Era Razor and “Coffin” box case-patent 1831-69 by T. Hessen, Bruch and Company – steel blade.  Ivory handle – from Germany.

48.          8 x 12 frame of 31 choice Arrowheads from Texas.  Extremely fine collection for variety and styles but similar size and color.  Great Frame!!

49.          Old Turquoise Heishi and Silver necklace.  Probably for a Zuni Girl.  Old coin silver with 3 turquoise nuggets inside Turquoise Heishi.  C. 1800’s – early 1900’s – restrung New Mexico.

50.          Flathead Belt Axe or Dance Axe.  14” long, old chipped stone head, beaded and leather wrapped handle – old trade beads.  1800’s – early 1900’s. Idaho.

51.          Sioux beaded Black bear claw necklace.  Old Trade bead necklace with bear claw pendant.  Lewis & Clark or similar beads, old shell casing and 6 arrowheads.  From the Ft. Abraham Lincoln area of N. Dakota.

52.          S. Cheyenne strike-a-light Bag.  4 Ύ” X 5 Ύ”.  Old Concho on flap.  Old Trade Beads on leather fringe and strap.  Lazy stitch beaded.  Oklahoma – 1900’s.

53.          Civil War Frame – 5 bullets found on the Resaca, GA battlefield – 1864 plus a Confederate $10.00 Note dated Feb. 1864 – Crisp uncirculated condition.

54.          Northwest Coast – Tlingit Tribe.  Possibles Bag or medicine pouch.  9” X 7 ½ “– Made from seal skin with cloth lining. Old beadwork in morning star or 4 direction designs – C. 1890 NW Canadian Coast.

55.          Arapaho strike-a-light Bag.  3 Ό” X 6”.  Tin cones on flap and bottom – lazy stitch beadwork.  Old mustard yellow beads.  White background.  Reservation period from Wyoming.

56.          Havasupai or Paiute necklace.  Old Red Trade beads, coin silver and very rare amber Cabachons.  This is the first necklace I have had with old amber.  1800’s Nevada.

57.          Ottawa Full Quilled & Birch Bark Basket.  4” diameter – 2” high.  Quilled sides and lid.  Floral design.  Museum piece. C. 1925 Michigan – From a private museum in Michigan.

58.          Trade beads from the 1700’s & 1800’s.  Old Ghost beads, cranberries, striped Mellon, mixed Christmas type, sand cast and tube.

59.          SW style hand woven 4’ X 6’ rug.  Typical SW designs in red, white, brown and black.  Beautiful rug.

60.          SW style hand woven rug 5’ X 5’ called sand painting featuring 2 sacred Yei figures.  Yei figures mediated for good crops and weather.

61.          Birch Bark Basket-Cylinder style. Laced with Basswood bark with a red willow hoop.  From the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.

62.          Old Sioux war club from the 1800’s.  Tomahawk shaped stone from Gray Quartzsite.  18” long.  Scatter beaded handle.  C. 1880 from the Standing Rock Reservation area.

63.          Eskimo child’s toy.  Figure in a Kayak.  7” long.  Kayak made from seal rawhide.  Sewn around a wood frame.  Figure holds a paddle-spear attached to the top of boat.  Nice little piece from Alaska C. 1920-30.

64.          Jicarilla Apache coil basket.  14” dia.  Red/black faded geometric designs. Very tight weave.  Old & used.  Great old basket!  C. 1880 N. Mexico.

65.          Mission Yuma California-2 loop handle jar.  5” X 7” dia-2 looped handles.  Faded line geometric designs.  Museum piece.  C. 1870-90 S. Calif.

66.          Old Iroquois bead and sequin cloth bag.  Iroquois designs.  Red and Green Trade bead strap.  4” X 5 ½” New York State.  C. 1930

67.          Birch Bark Basket. 12” X 14” dia.  Leech Lake Indian Reservation.

68.          Eskimo Rye grass basket.  12” dia. 2 ½“ deep.  Geometric designs.  E. Eskimo from the Hudson Bay area of Canada.  C. 1920

69.          Eskimo sea grass basket with lid.  Beautiful little basket!! 5” X 5” N Alaska museum piece.  C. 1900

70.          Very old hand forged iron bear trap.  30” long.  Nice patina.  C. 1830.  Used in the fur trade.

71.          Birch Bark Winnowing basket.  Used in processing wild rice.  From the Leech lake Indian Reservation.

72.          SW style rug.  4’ X 6’.  Beautiful designs & colors.  Hand woven and natural dyes.  Red dominant color.

73.          Old “Stars and Stripes” newspaper from World War II.  Sat. May 20, 1944.  Great piece of history.

74.          Large frame of points, scrapers, etc.  20 plus points with an Indian police badge in the middle.  Nice frame.

75.          Frame with a beautiful Confederate $10 note dated Feb. 17, 1862 and a bullet mold from the same period.

76.          Frame with a $20 Confederate note dated Feb. 17, 1864, 2-58 cal. Williams cleaner bullets and a Confederate 69 caliber ball.

77.          Birch bark canoe.  Very nice.  From the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.

78.          Large frame of spear points, knives, scrapers and part of an old arrow or harpoon.  Has original wrappings and metal point on the shaft.

79.          Civil War cannon ball or grape shot.  Measures about 2” dia.  Found around Murfreesboro, TN.  C. 1863-4.

80.          Civil War newspaper.  Old original (8 pages) dated – October 2, 1861.

81.          Frame with a Confederate note dating Feb., 1864 and artifacts from the Resaca, GA. Battlefield April, 1864 (Bullet extractor, nail spike and fired bullet)

82.          Civil War era razor with “coffin” shaped box.  Manufactured by Frederick Reynolds-Providence Works-Sheffield  C. 1840-70 Horn handle

83.          Hand woven SW style rug.  4’ X 6’ Hopi maiden dancer design.  An offering of thanks for good crops. 

84.          Hand woven SW style rug.  4’ X 6’ Reds, blues, black & tan stripes & crosses.  Nice rug.

85.          Iroquois-Woman’s beaded pouch or ration ticket pouch.  3” X 3 ½”.  Found inside was an old trade bead necklace with a trade dollar attached.  Old pouch beaded both sides-Floral designs.  C. 1880 Private collection-N.Y.

86.          Very old folding knife and beaded case.  Sioux-knife measures 3 ½” folded.  Uniquely made.  Beaded case is triangular shaped with fringe all around.  Old greasy yellow & Sioux green beads.  C. 1860’s-70’s

87.          Russell Green River knife from the mid 1800’s. Stamped on the blade.  Approx. 10” overall.  True Trade knife from the 1860’s-70’s.

88.          Sioux beaded knife sheath.  4” X 11” lazy stitch beaded.  Geometric designs.  Beaded rope dangles.  Very nice!!  Santee Sioux Reservation.  C. 1930’s-40.

89.          Very old newspaper-The National Gazette from Philadelphia Wed. May 3, 1820.  4 page paper in good shape.  Topics include:  Slavery, Louisiana Purchase, Civil War, affairs over seas, essays and poetry, classifieds, incoming and outgoing ships, schooners and sloops.  Very interesting.

90.          Frame containing old Roman bronze artifacts:  knife- 3 points & Roman coin.  From Turkey.  C. 500 A.D.

91.          Revolutionary War amputation knife.  Curved hand forged iron blade.  Antler handle. C. 1770-1790.  Private museum in Pennsylvania.

92.          2-Revolutionary War belt knives.  Hand forged iron blades with antler handles.  C. 1770-90.  Private museum in Pennsylvania.

93.          Hand woven SW style rug.  5’ X 5’.  Called the Chief’s pattern.  Crosses, diamonds, stripes.  Very nice.

94.          SW conk shell and beaded belt.  Old large number 8 white beads used to make rolled beaded borders on the belt.  13 old large trade carved conk shells are mounted on the belt.  37” long.  Paiute or Havasupai Tribe.

95.          Old Mexican Bowie knife.  Engraved blade.  Carved horn handle.  11” long.  Museum piece.  C. 1860-75.  Arizona.

96.          Beautiful frame (2 ovals) with a larger arrowhead in the center of each oval surrounded by fantastic bird points.  30 total points.

97.          6 X 8 frame containing 4 bullets from the 1870’s-80’s. (.41 Peters, .44 Colt, .41 Short & .45 Peters shot shell)

98.          Hand woven SW style rug. 4 X 6 typical SW design in red, white, black & gray.  “Klagetoh” style.

99.          War Dept. drawings and paintings showing what the uniforms of the U.S. Dragoon Regiment should look like.  C. 1830’s.  Excellent drawings & paintings of the time-enlisted & officer uniforms-standing & on horse back.  Also shows equipment.  Very interesting.  Private museum in Penn.

100.      A drawing/painting taken from the above and put in a case along side an actual Dragoon Regiment pistol holster of the time.  Note the metal insignia on the holster-looks like the picture.  C. 1830-40.  Private museum in Pennsylvania.

101.      Shotgun shell collection and old press mounted on a wood panel.  Press is from the 1800’s to early 1900’s.

102.      Collection of over 50 shotgun shells and rifle shells from the 1800’s to present.  Old rifle shell press mounted in the middle.

103.      Board containing over 50 rifle shells from the 1800’s to present.  Also included are an old rifle press and 2 very old knives.  Great wall hanger!

104.      Board containing 2 sets of spurs.  1 set is a Texas Ranger set and the other is an old set from the 1800’s.  In the middle is a large old jail cell key.  These items all surrounded by many 44-40 shells.  Another great wall hanging.

105.      Continental Arms Co.  Single shot .410 GA shotgun-break open-selected forged steel barrel.  Early 1900’s.

106.      Early BB gun pistol-Benjamin Air Rifle Co.-St. Louis, MO.-Pistol is called the Benjamin Franklin.  Early 1900’s.

107.      Austrian made Wernal (Vernal) 28 GA. Shotgun.  Unique loading system.  1st cartridge gun.  From the 1870’s.

108.      Old percussion shotgun. 12GA.  One of the earlier ones.  Good shape.  Mid 1800’s.

109.      Rare old shotgun made in Minnesota.  Old single shot 12 GA. Shotgun from the Janney Semple Hill & Co., Minneapolis, MN called the “Invincible”.  Saddle ring on the right side.  Very rare old gun from here in Minnesota.  Late 1800’s.

110.      Colt 1889 Navy-civilian .38 cal. Revolver.  First double action with swing out cylinder Colt ever made.  4 ½’ barrel-6 shot-blue finish-checkered grips.  Patent dates of 1884 and 1888 on the barrel.

111.      Savage Model 1904 .22 cal. Rifle.  This is the cutest little gun I’ve seen.  Made to shoot short, long and long rifle.  Bolt action (tiny little bolt).  Only 33” long.  Great little old gun!

112.      Old Flintlock turned into a percussion rifle.  Beautiful old carved and engraved wood and metal.  Great Patina, has the word “Keinerin” engraved on the side.  Beautiful old rifle from the early 1800’s.

113.      Diamond Arms single shot 12 gauge. Shotgun.  Patent 1913.  Nice old shotgun.

114.      Colt .38 Pistol.  Improved model manufactured from 1898-1944.  4 ½” blued barrel-6 shot cylinder.  Checkered rubber stocks with the word “Colt” in an oval on top portion of handle.  Rampant Colt in circle on the metal just above the word Colt on handle.  Good shape.

115.      Winchester Model 37 “Red Letter” 16 gauge. Single shot shotgun.  “red” letter more scarce to find.  Nice shape.

116.      Winchester Model 94 30-30 lever action model – 1869-1969 commemorative Golden Spike-Oceans united by rail Gold Plated sides – medallion on stock.  A true collector’s item.  New in the original box.

117.      Floberg single shot target rifle possibly a .41 cal. Or similar.  Octagon barrel.  Checkering on the forearm and stock, unique chambering.  C. 1870-1880.

118.      Smith Wesson model 1896 .32 cal. Pistol-1st model.  This was the first time S & W made a revolver with a swing out cylinder.  Cylinder stop is located on top over the cylinder.  6 shot fluted cylinder.  3 Ό” barrel.  Nickel plated.  Checkered rubber grips-approx. 19,712 made between 1896-1903.  Serial number on this one is #6271.  A very rare pistol. Book price ranges from $400-$600 in this condition.

119.      20 gauge. Custom double barrel shotgun.  Dual hammers,  Very nice engraving of hunting scene.  Very unique break open.  2 triggers.  Very nice.  C. early 1900’s.

120.      Absolutely beautiful percussion rifle.  .41 or .45 cal.  Hand made-NOT FROM A KIT!!  Made from a lighter wood-possibly beech-has dark tiger stripes.  Hand forged front and rear sights.  Beautifully inlaid.  This is the nicest percussion rifle I have ever had.  Early – mid 1900’s.

121.      U.S. Springfield Armory 30.06 rifle Model 1903.  Bolt action.  Peep sight. Long range & wind adjustments.  Great condition.

122.      A–G: Civil War pictures-The following pictures were purchased from a private museum in Pennsylvania.  Some of the pictures have beautiful handwritten script captions.  I have never seen any of these pictures in history books and I have a large collection of Civil War books.  At any rate, these are true Civil War era documentations of historical time.  May be sold all together or separate at the discretion of the auctioneer.

124.      Prairie Tribe moccasins-Ponca.  11’ long.  Lazy stitch beaded.  High cuffs.  From Oklahoma.  C. 1930

125.      Crow or Shoshoni awl case.  8” long & leather dangles.  Greasy yellow beads with old Cheyenne pink. Old brass beads-tin & brass cones.  Early 1900’s.

126.      Mandan/Hidatsa strike-a-light bag. Lazy stitch beaded. Hand rolled copper cones.  4 ½” X 5 ½”. N. Dakota Reservation period.

127.      Sioux Ration Ticket Bag. Lazy stitch geometric designs.  3” X 6”. Old trade bead dangles.  Nice. S. Dakota

129.      Oglala Sioux turtle amulet or fetish. Typical Sioux geometric designs. 3 Ύ” X 7 “. Dyed horse hair and tin cone dangles. From the Pine ridge area of S. Dakota.

130.      Arapaho knife sheath.  Beautiful piece. Lazy stitch beaded. Very tiny 13° or 14° white beads. Lazy stitch border. Fringe along one side. Red Ochre dyed leather. 3 Ύ” X 10”. Great sheath. Private collector in Wyoming.

131.      Very early Iroquois Turtle Shell Rattle.  Snapping turtle shell. Used by the False Face Society. Wood handle with inlaid shell eyes & nostrils-carved mouth. A true museum piece. C. 1820-50. N.Y.

132.      Kiowa or Comanche strike-a-light bag. Made from heavy boot or saddle leather.  Overlay beaded in geometric designs. Old copper Concho button on flap. Tin cone dangles around bottom of flap and bag. 2 Ύ” X 6”-Hair pipe and brass beads. C. early 1900’s maybe late 1800’s.

133.      Huge Chippewa pipe bag. Full beaded floral front. Overlay beaded approximately 6” X 28” long + fringe. Beaded on brain tanned leather.  Beautiful!! 1900’s-White Earth Res. Area-MN.

134.      Civil War era-Beautiful $5 note from the Citizen’s Bank of Louisiana. June 1857. Uncirculated condition. 4 bullets from the Battle of Stones River in Murfreesboro, TN.

135.      Civil War artifacts:  (1)Belt knife (2) Vanilla extract bottle (3) $.25 note dated Jan. 1863 – Alabama

136.      Civil Ear era ink well, clay pipe, poison bottle and a seated dollar dated 1847.

137.      Navajo wedding basket. 14” diameter 4” height. Faded red design. Neat old basket. Old & used. Black Mesa Reservation-Arizona. C. 1890-1900.

138.      Frame containing 2 large pottery sherds surrounded by super quality bird points and arrowheads.  Over 40 pts. Ancient pueblo sherds. Great frame from Arizona.

139.      Very rare Eskimo mask. Made from wet seal rawhide formed to the human face. When dried, eye & mouth are cut out.  Wolf fur circles the head like a parka. Caribou fur makes up the mustache and beard. Seal fur is used for the eyelashes and eyebrows. Mask measures 9 X 13. These are no longer made. A true museum piece. C. 1920. Seward Peninsula, Alaska.

140.      Yankton Sioux tobacco bag or medicine bag. 4 Ύ” X 19” + fringe. Lazy stitch beaded both sides. Wool trade cloth & tin cones. Green earth paint, trade beads & dyed horse hair. Reservation Period. S. Dakota.

141.      Arctic Timber wolf hide. 6’ long. White in color. Heavy fur. White wolves only come from the NW territories of N. Canada. Full face, legs, feet. Beautiful fur. Would make a great wall hanger.  Have sold for a thousand dollars.

142.      Very old Sioux/N. Plains style quilled hair drop. Worn on the back of the head. 9 quill slats of dyed porcupine quills. Tin cone & horse hair drops. C. 1880. 2 ½ X 10”.

143.      Crow knife sheath on beaded rawhide. Very old cut beads. ALL SINEW SEWN. Typical crow design-white bead outlining. Painted/dyed front. 3 Ό” X 10 “Old Trade knife included. 145.      Potawatomi – Birch bark and sweet grass basket with quill work. Coiled sweet grass bottom and sides. Bark and quilled lid. C. 1890-1920. Upper Michigan.

146.      N. Arapaho beaded belt. 2” X 30”. Blue background with red, yellow and dark blue designs. C. 1890-1920  Wyoming

147.      Lakota Sioux lizard amulet. 3” X 8”. Full lazy stitch beaded top. Old red white heart beads.  Horsehair & tin cone dangles-Pine Ridge. S. Dakota.

148.      Eskimo soapstone carving of a sea otter.  Excellent carving. 3” x 7” C. 1910-30 from St. Lawrence Island area of Alaska.

149.      Santo Domingo Pueblo Polychrome Olla Pottery jar. Black floral designs on cream. 14” high 9” diameter c. 1930 Hard to find this style pot anymore. New Mexico.

150.      Sioux full beaded vest.  Adult man’s vest, with horse and rider on each side front and back with American Flags.  In all my years of collecting, this is the finest piece of beadwork I have ever had.  It took over a year of constant negotiating to secure it.  Made for a WWII returning veteran (Brul’e Sioux) from S. Dakota the vest was made to honor him as a warrior.  The vest portrays him as a warrior of the “Old days” on horseback facing the enemy.  His acts of bravery are depicted by the war bonnet he wears.  Although not real old, it is an absolute museum piece of art.  C. 1944.

151.      Ottawa/Chippewa moccasins.  Very old floral overlay beadwork.  Old cut beads, smoked-brain tanned deer hide.  Fur cuffs-Wisconsin/Michigan area.  C. 1880-1900.

152.      Blackfoot gauntlet gloves.  Old hand tanned deer hide.  Old cut beads-geometric beaded diamond pattern.  C. 180.  Montana.

153.      Arapaho belt bag.  4x7”.  Lazy stitch beaded geometric design in red, dark blue, green and yellow.  Light blue background.  Brass tack, wool trade cloth and tin cones on flap.  Tin cones on bottom.  Twisted fringe and brass bead dangles-GREAT BAG!  Reservation period-Wyoming.

154.      Lakota Sioux pipe bag with quill slat panel.  Beautiful bag.  5x27” plus fringe.  Large lazy stitch beaded panels on each side-beaded strip on one side from top down to beaded panel.  Beaded edging around the top.  Quill panel measures a whopping 5x7” dyed quills in red, blue and yellow geometric pattern.  A fantastic bag!  Don’t find bags with quill slats too often.  Beautiful old hard crusted tanned leather.  Museum quality bag!

155.      Cheyenne buffalo horn society staff.  27” long.  2 buffalo horns on a staff.  Large beaded panel covering the horns.  Beaded handle.  Used in ceremonies – 1900’s.  Super-Montana.

156.      Papago basket.  Olla shaped-geometric designs.  8x8” dia.  From South Arizona.  C. 1880-1900.  Nice tight weave-natural dyes.

157.      Rare Santa Ana Pueblo polychrome olla pottery.  Beautiful black and red on cream.  Geometric designs.  Measures 8 ½ “ tall x 8” dia.  C. 1930-1940.  Signed Racheal Medina-Raton.  Santa Ana pottery no longer made at Santa Ana.  Beautiful Rare Older Pot!

158.      Several large strands of trade beads from the 1700’s-1800’s.  Melon, Vaseline-donut, sand cast, rice, etc.

159.      NW coast mask-Tsimshian Tribe carved from Red Cedar-movable mouth.  Painted in red, blue, black and white.  White human or horse hair.  Called the “Mountain Spirit”.  Used to discipline children.  Hand rolled copper bells attached to leather strips on each side.  Great Mask.  This is the first older NW Coast mask I have had.  NW Coast masks can sell for thousands!!!  NW Coast of British Columbia-Canada.  C. 1925.  Museum piece.

160.      Navajo Turquoise Heishi and nugget necklace.  Metal triangular medallion.  Silver beads and silver spacers.  Nice old necklace with 2 ancient Pueblo pottery sherds.  C. early 1900’s.  Arizona.

161.      Rare-series 1860’s-one dollar note Bank of America, ornate design with green overprint-choice crisp uncirculated.  Fantastic genuine old note.

162.      Civil War frame.  1862 10 cent note.  Choice crisp uncirculated condition.  Summit Bank of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Civil War merchant script.  2 bullets from the Civil War .58 cal. Ball from the south.

163.      Hopi or Navajo Red Coral necklace.  Red Coral nuggets and Coral tube beads beautiful necklace from the SW – 1900’s.  New Mexico.

164.      Frame of about 100 of the prettiest yet different (eccentric) bird points I have seen.  Especially selected due to their serrated sides, side notches, deep corner notches, long stems, etc.  All from the Western and SW U.S.

165.      Civil War-US Navy shot tongs.  Look like a pair of calipers or ice tongs.  Used to pick up heavy cannon balls and other shot.  C. 1860-1865.  Private museum in Pennsylvania.

166.      Navajo hand woven Tree of Life rug.  30x50” – multi-color birds on tree, from the Gallup N. Mexico area.  C. 1930-1940.

167.      Beautiful Hunkpapa Sioux knife sheath.  Thread and sinew sewn.  Old greasy yellow and Sioux blue beads.  Lazy stitch beaded.  Trapezoid shaped.  3 ½ ” wide at top-2 Ύ” at the bottom.  10” long.  A row of fringe and tine cones across the upper portion.  Tin cones and leather fringe on the bottom,  Tine cone and horse hair dangles.  Beautiful museum quality from the Ft. Peck Reservation in Montana-late 1800’s-1900’s.

168.      Pipe bag-Piegan Blackfoot pipe bag 6x24” plus fringe.  Overlay beaded panels on both sides.  Triangles on a blue background, 2 triangular beaded tabs hung down on each side.  Beaded rope dangles.  Very, very nice 1900’s-Montana.

169.      Fascine knife-a short curved, bladed knife used in cutting reeds to bundle in making breastworks or temporary bridges across a river.  Revolutionary War Era.  C. 1790.  Private museum in Pennsylvania.

170.      Sioux-Woman’s working bag.  Large beaded bag-approx. 10x15” – lazy stitch beaded front-beaded flap.  Horsehair and tin cone dangles hanging in the center of the bag.  Large beautiful bag!  Late 1800’s-1900’s.  South Dakota.

171.      Sioux Moccasins-11 ½” long.  Lazy stitch beaded uppers.  Geometric and Buffalo Hoof design.  Beautiful moccasins in great shape-1900’s-private collector from Nebraska.

172.      Comanche strike-a-light bag.  Lazy stitch beaded.  3x7 ½” tine cone fringe, S. Western Concho on flap.  Old Cheyenne pink beads.  Early 1900’s-? Oklahoma.

173.      Arapaho woman’s belt bag or mirror bag 5x9”.  Large full beaded front.  Lazy stitch bead work light blue background, crosses and zigzag designs.  Metal Concho button on the flap.  Row of brass tacks on the bottom with short leather fringe below.  Beautiful bag-reservation period.  Wyoming.

174.      Old crow knife sheath with knife.  Appx. 4x13”.  Row of large old white 3* seed beads down the curved side.  Very tiny #13 or #14 size used in the rectangular bead top portion.  SINEW and thread sewn, leather fringe on the side, cut out for a belt.  Fantastic museum quality piece.  From a private collector near Butte Montana.  C. later 1800’s.

175.      Pipe set. Fantastic.  Beaded pipe stem set with pipestone pipe.  Beaded stem, tamper, cleaner and brush.  Used in ceremonies.  These pieces not usually beaded.  South Dakota.

176.      Large Sioux pipe bag.  Another absolute museum quality piece.  6 Ύ”x20” plus 13” fringe.  Lazy stitch beaded panels both sides.  Very nice geometric designs.  Heavy leather-possible elk-maybe Bison.  Copper cone and red fluff dangles toward top of bag and on leather straps.  Beautiful bag!  Early 1900’s said to have come from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota.  Obtained from a private museum in Michigan.

177.      SW Navajo necklace.  Old turquoise Heshi with old silver beads and cones.  Original medallion missing-replaced with a “show” piece (not old) still a great older Navajo necklace from the 1900’s.  Arizona.

178.      Apache belt bag.  Typical round shape lazy stitch beaded front and flap.  Red cloth lining inside.  Tine cones around bag.  5” dia.-Reservation Period – Texas.

179.      SW necklace-possibly Zuni.  3 rows of old white trade beads.  Old shell conk Cabochons and medallion in front.  Beautiful old necklace from New Mexico.

180.      Navajo necklace-old glass tube beads with turquoise nuggets and cabochons.  Unique inlaid medallion-great necklace.  1900’s. Arizona.

181.      Antelope rattle.  First one I’ve ever seen-Blackfoot Tribe .  Used in ceremonies or healing rituals.  Antelope horns on a carved and beaded staff with pebbles inside the horns to rattle.  Old hawk bells around the horns.  Full beaded handle.  Red Ochre dye and Red Wool Trade cloth.  20 ½” long.  NE Montana-1900’s-Unique!

182.      Arapaho moccasins-Lazy stitch beaded tops.  Tin cone fringe on top of each moccasin-maybe ceremonial or dance moccasins-adult size.  Leather fringe around upper cuff portion and behind the heel-very nice!  Reservation period-1900’s.  Oklahoma.

183.      Navajo rug 30x22.  C. 1930.  Hand woven multi-colored stacked triangles in red, brown, clack, gray and white.  Earth/vegetable dyes.  From the Gallup area of New Mexico.

184.      Beautiful SW trade bead and lapis necklace.  Don’t see old lapis anymore.  SW Tribe-possibly Pueblo, old coin silver.  Nice!  New Mexico.

185.      Sioux ration ticket bag with leather insert to protect ticket.  Lazy stitch beadwork.  Beaded rope dangles-3 Ό x 6” Standing Rock area.  South Dakota.

186.      Kiowa whet stone case 2 ½ x 6” fringe and cone dangles.  Old saddle or boot leather – glass trade beads, twisted leather dangles.

187.      Papago lidded basket. C. 1930. Geometric designs 4 Ύ x 6” high.  Nice tight weave-crisp designs.  Arizona.

188.      Ancient Pueblo-Anasazi and Hohokam artifacts from Arizona and New Mexico.  Includes shell, bone, points, potter, pottery game pieces, old silver beads, turquoise, etc. C. 1500-late 1800’s.

189.      Civil War-Confederate 10 dollar note dated 1864 and one very rare 50 Maynard shell from 1865.

190.      Frame containing a Confederate $20 note dated 1864 and 5 Civil War buttons from the Battle of Hoover’s Gap, Tennessee June 24-26 1863.  This was a Union victory. First battle to use Spencer rifle.

191.      Mission California-Yuma Tribe necklace.  White old trade beads with old copper beads and bells.  C. late 1800’s-early 1900’s.  Southern California.

192.      Civil War-shot gauge.  Used by the US Navy. Used to measure 6 pound shot.  (Round or Cannon Call). C. 1855-1865.  Has US Navy stamp on the handle.

193.      Sioux strike-a-light bag. Lazy Stitch beadwork on Buckskin.  Tin cone dangles on beaded flap and bottom-Late 1800’s-1900’s.  Nebraska.

194.      Large Pueblo necklace.  Made from Red Coral Nuggets, silver beads, old silver conchos and large beaded medallion.  Very nice!! New Mexico.  C. 1900’s.

195.      Antler and leather wall hanging.  Very unique piece of art.  Reindeer antler with a stretched hide inking laced to the antler.  Carved Eagle in antler.  Beautiful ink drawing of Caribou.  Long fringe.  Beautiful piece of art.

196.      Plains breast plate-made from Coyote bone-large Abalone shell - brass beads.

197.      Navajo rug-Double eye dazzler in black, red and brown.  36x55” hand woven and dyed. Ganada area made.  Nice old rug.  C. 1930.

198.      Old trade bead necklace with Bronze fur trade cross.  Old.  Great Lakes fur trade era-restrung. Michigan.

199.      Civil War artifacts from Tennessee.  Chain from an Artillery Cassion , spike, bullets, bullet extractor and bullet mold.  C. 1860’s.

200.      3 old bullets from the 1800’s including a 56-50 Spencer from the 1860’s 1870.  The other 2 are later but unique.

201.      Bone hair pipe and horn choker.

202.      Two Assinaboine neck bags.  Each is about 3” square.  One is full beaded lazy stitch front on brain tanned buckskin.  The other is a painted Parfleche type with leather fringe.  2 nice little bags.

203.      Trade bead necklace from the early 1800’s with a metal gorget.

204.      Trade beads from the 1700’s-1800’s.  Several old strands including rare cut green and cobalt blue beads, tube, striped melon and rice beads.

205.      Huge 4 Ύ “ beaded medallion-woodland style.  Large star or flower.  Brown tanned leather.  Old Padre trade beads.

206.      Assinaboine medicine ball.  Full beaded geometric designs – yellow background.  North Dakota.

207.      Old mixed type bead necklace with a metal medallion with a picture of an Indian.

208.      Old Micmac carved wooden spoon or ladle – 9” x 4”.  Carved from Maple or similar wood.  Used for making maple sugar.  C. 1880–1910.  Maine.

209.      Assinaboine War Club.  Stone head wrapped with rawhide.  Rawhide, leather and beaded handle.  Great old piece from North Dakota.  C. 1900

210.      Navajo coiled wedding basket – 13 ½” dia. Geometric design-faded.  C. 1910–1920.  New Mexico.

211.      Trade bead strands from the 1700’s–1800’s.  Vaseline, cut tube, striped melon, rice, sand cast, etc.  Great old trade beads!!!

212.      Old trade beads-Padre bead necklace with medal.  Old copper or brass bells.  Great Necklace!!

213.      Cree beaded bag and turtle charm.  Old button on bag with old trade beads.  1900’s.  North Dakota.
